What you fear the most is where you need to grow with God the most. Thankfully, He also created plants for us to use as a tool to help us navigate through those fears!
“The leaves of the trees are for the healing of the nations.” Revelation 22:2

Essential oils aren’t meant to replace the Holy Spirit, but rather to use in conjunction as you pray and grow through your own personal traumas, fears, and worries. So while you seek the freedom that’s only found in Jesus, it’s important to use the plants God provided us, too!

Let’s discuss each Enneagram number, and share are a few blends of essential oils that you can use as you pray through your core fears.

If you don’t know you’re type, take the most accurate test here (it’s $12, but worth every penny, and is less likely for you to be mistyped). To take a free test if you’re not ready to take the extensive one, take it here.

Enneagram Type 1

An enneagram 1 can struggle with fear of being wrong, bad, evil, inappropriate, unredeemable, or corruptible. Try using the blends Inner Child, Surrender, and Into the Future!

Sample prayer:
“God, thank You for sending Your Son to die for me. Remind me today that I am redeemed by the blood of Jesus. I thank you that as a child of God, I’m seen as a spotless lamb, precious in His sight. I know when You see me, You marvel at Your good creation. I love You, Lord, and thank You for sending Jesus as a perfect example for me to follow.”

Enneagram Type 2

An enneagram 2 can struggle with fear of being rejected, unwanted, seen as worthless, needy, or unworthy of love. Try using the blends Joy, Forgiveness, and Acceptance!

Sample prayer:
“God, thank You for reminding me that Your perfect love casts out all fear. You saw me worthy enough to die for, and You did that because You wanted me to be with You forever. You saved me because You loved me unconditionally, recklessly, passionately. Remind me today, Lord, that there’s nothing I can do to make You love me more, and nothing I’ve ever done that’ll make You love me less. Help me see myself, and others, the way You see us.”

Enneagram Type 3

An enneagram 3 can struggle with fear of being incompetent, or seen as unsuccessful or a failure. Try using the blends Release, Gratitude, and Transformation!

Sample prayer:
“God, thank You for accepting every part of me. No matter how hard I try to make it look like I have it all together, You know me through and through. You know my pain, You know my struggles, and You are still so proud of me. Thank You that even though people only see what I let them see, You see me for who I am - worthy enough to die for. No amount of personal success will make You love me more, and no failure will make You love me less. Thank You for Your never-ending, unconditional love for me.”

Enneagram Type 4

An enneagram 4 can struggle with fear of being emotionally cut off, seen as plain, mundane, or flawed. Try using the blends Dream Catcher, Envision, and Inspiration!

Sample prayer:
“God, You say I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You had me in mind before I was even born - all of the unique, intricate, creative, passionate parts of me. Thank You for comforting me today by reminding me that You don’t make mistakes. There is no one who understands me and accepts me more than You. Continue to reveal Yourself to me with new inspirations and dreams and ideas that can only come from You.”

ENNEAGRAM TYPE 5

An enneagram 5 can struggle with fear of being invaded or not existing, seen as ignorant, or having unwanted obligations placed upon them. Try using the blends Brain Power, Gathering, and Highest Potential!

Sample prayer:
“God, I’m so grateful that You see me. I’m grateful that I’m fully known by You. Thank You that no matter what I’m facing, I can rest assured that You’re never bothered by my requests and prayers. You created my personality different from others, yet so useful - help me grow to a place where I’m confident in sharing my gifts with people and the world.”

ENNEAGRAM TYPE 6

An enneagram 6 can struggle with fear of being without support, security, or guidance; being targeted, alone, or abandoned. Try using the blends Stress Away, Valor, and Trauma Life!

Sample prayer:
“God, You say You will never leave me nor forsake me. You say You have plans to prosper me, and not to harm me. Help me trust that You are my ultimate protector. Any fear or anxiety I am facing today, I pray You remove it and replace it with the overwhelming comfort of Your Holy Spirit. There is no one safer than You, Lord - so I declare and decree that the blood of Jesus cover and protect me and my family and my situations, today and always. I thank You, and I trust You God!”

Enneagram Type 7

An enneagram 7 can struggle with fear of being deprived, bored, or trapped in emotional pain. They also have huge FOMO - or fear of missing out. Try using the blends Present Time, Common Sense, and Clarity!

Sample prayer:
“God, You are the only One who can satisfy my every need. No matter how often I get distracted with shiny things and new adventures, help me keep my eyes on You. I want Your wisdom, Your clarity, Your will and not mine. I know I try to bury my hurts and heartaches - but God, I come before You vulnerable and longing for healing. There is no greater adventure than following You and seeking You. Create in me a newfound hunger for Your word like never before!"

Enneagram Type 8

An enneagram 8 can struggle with fear of being weak, harmed, powerless, or without control. Their greatest fear is being at the mercy of injustice. Try using the blends Harmony, Higher Unity, and Humility!

Sample prayer:
“God, there have been people who have betrayed me in my life - but You won’t. There have been circumstances that have broken my trust - but help me put my trust in You alone. I know I try to put on a tough exterior - but Holy Spirit, I ask You soften my heart. When I am weak, You say You are strong. Take control of my life. Help me get to a place where I have perfect faith that You will handle things on my behalf. Thank you for your goodness and unending love.”

(side note - 8 isn’t my core enneagram number, but it is my wing. So I will be using these essential oils as well as my enneagram 9 essential oils, too!)

Enneagram Type 9

An enneagram 9 can struggle with fear of being in conflict, tension, or discord; feeling overlooked or shut out. I myself am a 9, and this is spot on! Try using the blends Live Your Passion, Magnify Your Purpose, and Awaken!

Sample prayer:
“God, thank You that You find me important. Thank You that everything I think and feel is seen and heard by You. You are the Prince of Peace, Lord - so when things are tense or strenuous, I thank You that You will work all things together for my good. Help me see that conflict isn’t always a bad thing - many times trials come my way because You’re trying to teach me something. Comfort me, Lord, as I step into the strong, capable woman I am in Christ Jesus.”

1) Applying. I’ll add drops of each essential oil over my wrists, heart, neck, temples, and bottoms of my feet. It would also be a great idea to add drops of each essential oil into a custom roller bottle, and roll on your skin throughout the day!

2) Inhaling. I’ll inhale each of these essential oils individually from the bottle.

3) Diffusing. Diffusing drops of these essential oils is key, too. I can put drops of each oil into the diffuser, or just diffuse one at a time. It’s totally up to me and how I’m feeling!
